AUTUMN EQUINOX AND BALTIC UNITY DAY CELEBRATION

As the sun's time in the sky grows shorter, we once again descend along the wheel of the year... Traditionally, on Saturday, September 19th, amidst the mystical atmosphere of the Kernavė hill forts, we invite you to spectacularly celebrate the Autumn Equinox and Baltic Unity Day. This event marks the astronomical transformation of nature and serves as a symbolic reminder of the importance of the unification of the Baltic tribes.

Experience:

• Fire and light mysteries, traditional rituals

• Interactive educational activities, discovery of ancient crafts

• Creative installations and traditional night dances (naktišokiai)

• Hikes and guided tours through the sacred landscape of Kernavė

Concerts and Performances:

• Musical group KAMANIŲ ŠILELIS

• Folklore ensembles: MEDGRINDA, ČIŪTA, SELUONA, TRYS KETURIOSE, LAUKIS (LT)

• Kaunas City Chamber Theater performance "4 MORTOS – A Party with Death," based on Lithuanian mythology and folklore.

The Culmination: The mystical presentation of the sculpture "HERE AND BEYOND: THE GRASS SNAKE" (by Henrikas Orakauskas) and the lighting of the unity bonfires on the hill forts.

The hill fort light spectacle will be created by light artist ARVYDAS BUINAUSKAS.
