On 8–9 October, the Archaeological Site Museum of Kernavė will host the international conference “Heritage Management: Between Threats and Opportunities”, bringing together cultural heritage researchers and professionals from Lithuania and abroad, site managers, representatives of heritage communities, and everyone interested in the topic.

The conference will explore the challenges and opportunities of cultural heritage management today – from legal frameworks, the management of UNESCO World Heritage sites and community engagement to sustainable tourism, cultural landscapes, and innovative approaches to heritage interpretation and presentation. The two-day programme will feature more than 20 presentations by cultural and natural heritage specialists from Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Poland and Latvia, as well as engaging discussions and an opportunity to explore the Kernavė Archaeological Site in greater depth.

Conference programme

The conference aims to provide a space for open interdisciplinary dialogue, new ideas and shared insights into how we can protect, manage and responsibly use cultural heritage today.

Simultaneous interpretation between Lithuanian and English will be provided during the event.
